Garmin's tiny nuvi 350 navigator ? about the size of a deck of playing cards ? makes a powerful traveling companion. It provides accurate GPS navigation, getting you to your destination with ease. On top of that, it acts as a personal travel and entertainment assistant, giving you an MP3 player, an audio book player from Audible.com, and a handy digital travel kit which includes a JPEG picture viewer, world clock with times zones, currency converter, measurement converter, and calculator. In addition, optional software packages such as the Language Guide and Travel Guide (sold separately on SD Data cards) can be added for language and content support.
Combined with detailed maps, the nuvi provides automatic routing, turn-by-turn voice directions, and finger-touchscreen control?making it easy to find your way anywhere. The built-in, flip-up antenna receives the GPS (Global Positioning System) satellite signal. Preloaded maps of the U.S., Canada, and Puerto Rico display on the 3.5" screen, showing you where you are and where you're going. Voice prompts  delivered over the built-in speaker tell you whenever a turn is coming up. Rather than saying "turn left ahead," the nuvi 350 uses text-to-speech technology to announce actual street names, so you can keep your eyes on the road.
To enter a destination, just use the touchscreen controls to select a street address or intersection. Or dig into the database of millions of points of interest, such as hotels and restaurants, and you'll be able to find places you'd like to go in the cities you're visiting.
You can use the included USB cable to upload MP3s, digital pictures, and audio books (from Audible.com) from your home computer. Garmin also included a Secure Digital (SD) card slot on the side of the nuvi 350, so you can access your SD cards loaded with MP3s and pictures. Garmin's Point of Interest loader program also lets you save customized points of interest for future use. The nuvi 350 also comes with an A/C charger and approximately 700 MBs of internal memory for storage of supplemental maps, MP3s, and audio books.
The nuvi 350 also offers you the option of expansion. Language and travel guides are available from Garmin, which give you access to multi-language wordbanks and phrasebooks, plus handy travel tips, like hotel and restaurant reviews. Connect a Garmin traffic information receiver, and you'll be able to subscribe to Clear Channel's Traffic Message Channel. The nuvi 350 is compatible with the GTM 10 FM TMC traffic receiver. It provides you up-to-the-minute information on traffic flow, accidents, construction, and more along your programmed route, so you can avoid potential traffic snags.
The nuvi 350 comes with home and car power adapters. Its internal rechargeable battery also offers 4-8 hours of performance. The included suction-cup bracket mounts the nuvi 350 firmly on your windshield for easy visibility at a glance.
Large display: The Garmin Nuvi 350 has a 3.5? diagonal, 320 x 240 pixel TFT screen with 64,000 colo rs so the display is clean and crisp at night and during the day. It is equipped with a touch screen so you can easily navigate the different menus, whether you are in the car or out and about.
Real-time traffic updates: With the optional traffic updates, your GPS unit can alert you to upcoming developments on the road near you, so that you can plan accordingly.
Voice-guided directions: In addition to the visual reminders on the screen, the Nuvi 350 issues audible commands from the powerful built-in speaker. A text-to-speech feature means the unit will prompt you to ?turn right on Main Street? instead of ?turn right in 500 feet.? Turn-by-turn, voice-prompted navigation and text-to-speech functionality allow the unit to audibly announce the name of upcoming streets, addresses and Points of interest (POIs) so you can keep your eyes on the road while navigating. POIs include hotels, restaurants and attractions; add custom POIs for a personalized experience. Proximity alert feature warns you of upcoming custom POIs so you won't miss them.
Mapping: This GPS receiver is pre-loaded with City Navigator NT version 7, which includes detailed  maps of the U.S., Canada and Puerto Rico. There are two views, view maps in either a 3D perspective or a 2D overhead view. Mapping features include a route calculator which saves you time by finding the most efficient route between multiple destinations and can be programmed to avoid specific areas or road segments
Extra memory: The Nuvi comes with 700MB of additional memory that can be filled with whatever you choose, whether that?s extra mapping capability, MP3s or audiobooks.
Built-in lithium battery: The lithium battery lasts between four and eight hours for portable use. A 12V adaptor is included for use when mounted in your vehicle.
Built-in flip-up antenna: The integrated flip-up antenna provides excellent reception; MCX-type connector for external GPS antenna connection (not included)
Integrated dash mounting system: The dash mounting system provides easy adjustment and quick release
